Turn Organic and Recovered Materials Into Valuable Compost

Scott Equipment provides heavy-duty processing and separation equipment for commercial composting operations. From depackaging food waste and recovering clean organics to processing gypsum for use as a compost amendment, our equipment helps facilities reduce contamination, improve material consistency, and recover more value from incoming waste streams.

RECOVER GYPSUM FOR COMPOST APPLICATIONS

Gypsum doesn’t have to end its life in a landfill. When properly recovered and processed, drywall gypsum can be incorporated into compost as a mineral-rich amendment, creating another beneficial-use outlet for material that might otherwise be discarded.

Gypsum is a natural source of calcium and sulfur, two nutrients that can contribute value to the finished compost and the soils where it is ultimately applied. Unlike lime, gypsum supplies these minerals without significantly changing soil pH.

For composting facilities, incorporating recovered gypsum can also help create a more circular waste stream, diverting drywall from landfills while producing a recovered mineral material that can be blended into appropriate compost products.

WHY PROCESSING MATTERS

Turn More Incoming Material Into Value

Commercial composting facilities increasingly handle diverse material streams. Effective separation and processing can help remove contaminants before composting, improve the consistency of incoming material, reduce landfill disposal, and open opportunities to accept additional organic waste streams.

REDUCE CONTAMINATION

Remove unwanted packaging and paper before downstream processing.

RECOVER MORE MATERIAL

Capture valuable organic and mineral material instead of sending it to a landfill.

EXPAND FEEDSTOCK OPTIONS

Process additional food waste and recoverable material streams.

IMPROVE PROCESS CONSISTENCY

Create more uniform material for downstream handling and composting.

Designed for Quality Output

GypStream is engineered to produce a uniform gypsum product while minimizing the amount of paper remaining in the gypsum stream.
