Twin Screw Infeed

Drywall is fed into the GypStream by our twin screw infeed. This heavy-duty auger system is powered by two 10 HP TEFC motors to provide low speed and high torque to the tube shafts, conveying and metering drywall through the GypStream.

VFDs on the integrated control panel give you flexibility to control the infeed speed.

The twin screw infeed comes with a standard 8-yard hopper, so you can scoop entire piles of drywall with your loader or bucket, dump into the hopper, then go back for another pile, scoop, and repeat.

Work Platforms

Work platforms come standard with every system, providing you with easy access for service and maintenance.

Uptime is critical for your business to achieve high throughput and keep operating expenses low. Screens, paddles, and belts are the only wear parts in the entire system, and our work platforms allow you to inspect and make any modifications on the fly without any significant downtime.

Conveyors

The drywall recycling process isn’t over after we’ve effectively separated the gypsum from the paper backing. Next, you need to transport it from Point A to Point B. We design and manufacture custom conveyors to transport recovered gypsum and paper into super sacks, roll-offs, or directly onto other conveyor lines that reintroduce them into other processes.

Screw Conveyors

Screw conveyors are effective for transporting large volumes of gypsum and are sealed to keep dust down. We can design custom lengths and orientations to fit the exact footprint you need.

UHMW Liners

Lining the conveyors with UHMW allows the gypsum to slide easily over the surface. Less friction means less wear.

Diverter Gates

Gypsum has a high angle of repose, causing it to form tall piles. We can integrate drop gates into our conveyors, allowing you flexibility to spread out the discharge across a roll-off container.

Integrated Controls

The GypStream system was designed with rugged simplicity in mind. A single person can operate the entire system. The same person loading the drywall into the hopper is the one running the controls.  Our integrated control panel has a simple, push-button layout sequenced in the order of startup along with Allen-Bradley VFDs. It is stainless steel to NEMA 4X standards, and we offer options for hot climates and SCADA.

Safety Lock-Outs

E-stops on the panel itself can shut down the system in an emergency, and we can integrate lock-out switches in different areas of the system for an additional layer of safety.

Light Tower

A light tower above the panel indicates overall system status to the operator. Green is good. Red means something else needs attention. This lets your operator monitor system status while simultaneously operating the loader and feeding the drywall into the system.

Dust Collection

The system is completely sealed, but some form of dust control is recommended to collect, capture, and separate the nuisance dust that forms at the infeed and discharge areas of the system.

Scott Equipment offers a stand-alone baghouse dust collector and rotary airlocks that can be integrated into the system’s control panel.

Already have in-house air? That’s fine too. We design special hoods for our discharge conveyors to hook up air lines. It doesn’t take much to keep the nuisance dust control under control. Roughly 500-1000 CFM is adequate.

Magnets

The system is designed to process source-separated drywall, not large pieces of metal or dimensional pieces of lumber. Screws and nails, however, are no problem. The machine won’t even notice them.

We can integrate magnets into the infeed and outfeed to capture any screws, nails, or other small metal items, ensuring they are not mixed into your recovered gypsum or paper.
